Information Systems and Security Awareness
Information Security is the practice of preventing unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, inspection, recording, or destruction of information. The threat to information security has become very real with the increasing use of technology.
This course Information Systems and Security Awareness aims to increase employee awareness of information systems and security, with particular reference to the everyday workplace environment. It also highlights the employee’s role in protecting the company’s information systems through the use of scenarios, each depicting a particular type of information security threat.
After taking this course, the learner will be able to:
- Comply with the guidelines for data security, Internet usage, e-mail usage, and personal computer security
- Identify and minimize the risks posed by e-mail use or working outside the workplace
- Take steps to counter the threat of social engineering
